January’s special offer is a reiki and crystal
therapy treatment for £30 which has been very popular with my clients. The
treatment includes a chakra balancing session and lots of clients have asked me
to explain what the chakras are?
The word ‘chakra’ is Sanskrit for ‘wheel’’.
Chakras are vibrating wheels of energy that connect
our subtle energy field to our physical body. There are 7 major, 21 minor and numerous miniscule
chakras.
The 7 major chakras run from
the base of the spine, to the top of the head and they are closely related to
the endocrine system. When these seven main chakras are balanced well, an even
flow of energy runs through the system creating a feeling of well-being.
The seven major chakras are:
Base chakra –This chakra is situated
at the base of the spine and is linked with the adrenal glands. This chakra is about
survival, security and procreation and resonates with the colour red. It
connects us to mother earth and keeps us grounded
Sacral chakra – This chakra
is located just below the tummy button and resonates with the colour orange. This
chakra is linked to the pelvic girdle, reproductive organs, ovaries, prostate
gland, kidneys and bladder.
Solar plexus – This chakra
is situated just above the tummy button and below the rib cage and it resonates
with the colour yellow. This is the
emotional centre and creates both spiritual and physical energy. This chakra is
linked to the lower back, abdomen, gall bladder, digestive system, stomach,
liver and spleen.
Heart chakra – This chakra
is located at the heart centre and resonates with the colour green, pink or
gold. It is linked to the physical heart, upper back, thymus, circulation and
skin. This chakra links the three lower chakras to the three higher chakras. It
is about unconditional love, connection and acceptance.
Throat chakra – This chakra
is the communication centre and it is located in the throat. It resonates with colour
silver or sky blue and it is associated with the neck, throat, jaw, ears,
voice, trachea, bronchial tubes, upper lungs, oesophagus and arms.
Brow chakra – This chakra is
located between the eye brows and connects us to our intuition. It resonates
with the colour violet and indigo and is linked to the face, eyes, nose, sinuses,
cerebellum central nervous system and pituitary gland.
Crown chakra – This chakra
is situated on the top of the head and resonates with the colours indigo,
violet, gold and white. This is our connection to the universe.
The
ultimate goal of chakra work is balance.
By encouraging the even flow of energy throughout each of our chakras we
connect with both the earth and sky. Distributing the energy evenly leads to
inner peace and harmony within us.
Chakras
go in and out of balance all the time because today’s modern world is fast
paced, stressful and constantly changing. From the way we eat, work and sleep
the world can be quite a challenging place.
Negative
thought patterns, environmental pollutants, trauma, bad dietary habits,
addictive substances, stress and poor breathing techniques all interfere with
the natural flow of energy throughout the body.
Using crystals, colour therapy, essential oils and even relaxation can help to rebalance the chakra system but keeping
a healthy mindset and diet will maintain equilibrium.
I use chakra crystals in many of the
treatments I offer including reiki, reflexology, aromatherapy, Indian head massage
and facials. Crystals
compliment these therapies by helping to support the even flow of energy in and
around the body.
You can also purchase chakra
balancing crystals and CDs from my on-line shop. Click on these links for more information.
This is very basic information about chakras but I hope it gives you an idea what they are about.
Till the next time.
